Jet Black wooden Victorian front door

Another day another door! Here we have a bespoke 55mm wooden Victorian front door, manufactured in Sapele hardwood using tried and tested traditional mortise and tenon joints. Finished in a Jet black micro porous paint system from @teknosgbi contrasting against some very colourful leadwork. Raised and fielded tricoya @accoyawood panels along with a Victorian polished brass letter plate and heavy duty British standard @eraprofessionals night latch.

Sapele is a great choice of timber for an external door, it is dense, durable and paints well. For this type of application we wouldn’t recommend using anything other than a dense hardwood or accoya. By sealing end grains, reducing sharp edges, using V joints and using a 3 coat micro porous paint system coating life is extended to between 5 and 10 years depending on the exposure.
